This 1800's Howe-truss bridge was later covered to preserve the 150 plus wood and it is still looking great
It's was clean and plenty of picnic tables and trash bins. We toured the bridge after lunch and the creek was nice.

A fun day trip down Highway 21 in Jefferson County to visit Sandy Creek Covered Bridge. A lovely place for a sunny Fall day. The leaves are lovely right now. This is a really nice historic site with a real covered bridge. I’m old enough to remember when it was still in use. Take a drive and check it out.
